                                          Art Outside the western world: Haiti For this project, I chose to cover Haitian art and artists. I have a deep connection with Haiti as most of my family is from there. I think Haiti has some unique art that is worth looking at. "Cathedral" by Philomé Obin (1950) Philomé Obin was a renowned Haitian painter who often painted scenes of Haitian life, history, and folklore. "Cathedral" is one of his iconic pieces, showcasing the beautiful architecture of the Port-au-Prince Cathedral. The application of flat and bold colors within defined outlines is a concept fairly used in Haitian art. The artist's deliberate choice of vivid colors creates a lively atmosphere and shows the tropical vibes and aurora of Haiti.
